What’s the Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for Educators to join our Creche/Occasional Care Limited day service at Y Leisure City in Epping on a casual basis from January 2025.

As a Creche Educator, you will have a genuine concern and interest in the wellbeing and educational needs of young children and will provide a high level of customer service and communication with parents and guardians.

This position is based at our Leisure City recreation centre in Epping, which operates a Creche/Occasional Care Limited day service. The service operates between 8:30am-1:30pm during school terms only.

As a valued member of the Y Team, you will:

  • Work as part of a team to ensure high level care and supervision of children.
  • Assist with routines such as nappy changing, feeding, toileting and tending to children’s needs as required.
  • Liaise with parents and provide positive feedback regarding their child/children.
  • Undertake general administration such as bookings, statistics, telephone enquiries, and contacting customers on waitlist as directed.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children in our care.
  • Set up and pack away equipment in accordance with room requirements.
  • Complete general cleaning duties such as bathroom, toilets, toys and equipment.

The Y Leisure City Epping is part of Y Whittlesea, a not-for-profit that happens to be part of the oldest youth organisation in the world and oldest social enterprise, where all profits go back into our communities. 

Situated in the heart of Epping, The Y Leisure City is an awesome recreational facility delivering programs and services in areas such as Aquatics, Health & Fitness and Sports & Recreation for all ages. Our Creche service offers a safe, fun and stimulating space for children 6 weeks to 5 years, offering flexible support for families.

What do we hope you'll bring?

  • Legal right to live and work in Australia.
  • Current working with children check (WWCC) & Police Check (International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years).
  • Cert III in Children's Services or Diploma in Children Services (Check ACECQA for a list of equivalent qualifications).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications (nationally recognised training).
