At the Y, we are passionate about delivering truly person-centred support, services and programs. We empower people with a disability, providing them with opportunities to participate in inclusive and innovative programs. Our Disability Support Workers are the heart of our Inclusion Services and make a meaningful contribution to lives of our participants living with disabilities.

What’s the Opportunity?

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and passionate Support Workers to join our team and help make a positive impact on the lives of people living with a disability.  We have various positions available which involve assisting and supporting people with a range of different support needs in the following settings:

  • Group social & recreational programs
  • Community Access – supporting participants in a community setting
  • In home care and domestic support

All of our support worker roles attract casual loading, and certain programs will also offer extra penalty rates.

Mandatory Requirements/Qualifications

  • Legal right to live and work in Australia.
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check (VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain prior to starting with us).
  • International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years.
  • Current First Aid & CPR.
  • Qualifications including Cert III or IV in Community Services or equivalent are well regarded and attract a higher pay grade. Don’t have a formal qualification? That’s fine, let’s talk about how to get you qualified and how we can help!

Whilst relevant experience and a Community Services Qualification is desirable, the Y is willing to consider candidates with a passion for working in the disability sector and have relevant life experience.
