What’s the Opportunity

We are currently seeking reliable and compassionate Active Overnight Support Workers to join our team and support people with a disability to participate in the Y Whittlesea’s camp programs. This role is essential to the wellbeing of our campers, ensuring a safe and supportive environment during overnight hours. You’ll be awake and alert throughout your shift, attending to campers' needs, completing safety checks, and assisting with any overnight routines or incidents.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide active support to campers throughout the night
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required
  • Respond promptly to any overnight incidents or medical concerns
  • Conduct regular safety and wellbeing checks
  • Maintain accurate overnight documentation and communication with day staff
  • Ensure a calm and respectful environment for all campers

About You:

  • Empathetic, reliable, and attentive to the needs of others
  • Experience in disability support, youth work, or a similar role preferred
  • Ability to remain awake, alert, and responsive throughout overnight shifts
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A team player with a proactive attitude

Essential Requirements:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Manual handling experience (highly regarded)
